What exactly is branding?

How important is brand strategy?

Pretty f*ing important. Brand strategy combines what you do and why you do it to create a clear purpose. To create impactful branding, effectively position your business, and connect with the right audiences, you need a solid strategy. Without it, you’re just guessing.

What’s the difference between brand strategy and marketing?

Brand strategy is who you are. Marketing is how you tell people about it. Think of your brand as your personality, and marketing is the conversation. There’s no point in focusing on marketing without a clear brand strategy. You can blow your budget on ad campaigns that get people to buy, but if you’re lacking direction, they’ll likely never come back. Brand strategy helps you achieve your long-term business goals.

How do I know if my brand voice is working?

Hint - if people are ignoring you, it’s not. Are you getting the results you want? Your voice needs to be clear, consistent, and instantly recognisable as you. If it’s not, the answer is likely no. Your product could solve world peace, but you’re never going to cut through to your audience if you have the wrong voice.
